Parent-teacher conferences

Tonight we were treated to good reports from both boys' teachers.

Casey is reading above level and is doing great. One of his most recent projects was writing his numbers to 1,000. He was the first in his class to finish and was rewarded with a can of pop.

One of the projects he showed us was a story he wrote about his "special someone" for Valentine's Day. He chose his dad. It was really very sweet. He said his dad was special because "he loves my mom." That does make him special! :)

Brett is doing well too. When his teacher showed me everything they will be covering on the upcoming state assessment tests, I couldn't believe it. I didn't remember learning half those things when I was in third grade. His teacher told us it was all due to "No Child Left Behind." Great.

Brett led the first part of his conference with a PowerPoint he created. It even had music, animation and sound effects. It's really amazing how technologically advanced our kids are.
